What is the largest panel you install?

1600 × 3200 mm, at 6 mm and 12 mm thicknesses. Anything above that is a slab-fabrication job rather than a tiling job, and we will tell you when you have crossed that line.

Do large panels crack more easily?

Not in service, if the bed is solid. They break during handling. Thin large-format panels are strong in plane and fragile in bending, which is why they move on a vacuum frame rather than in hands.

Can large format go on a wall?

Yes, with mechanical support during cure and an adhesive rated for the weight and the panel size. We also check the wall's flatness first, because a bowed wall shows up instantly at this scale.

The work

A large-format panel turns a floor into a surface with almost no joints. It also turns every substrate defect into a lippage problem and every handling mistake into a broken slab. The right gear and enough hands matter as much as the skill.

Substrate tolerance before anything else

A 3200 mm panel needs a floor flat to a far tighter tolerance than a 300 mm tile. We survey with a straightedge and a laser, then grind or level until the floor meets the tile, rather than hoping adhesive will bridge the gap.

Rail cutting and vacuum-frame handling

A slab that size is cut on a rail system with a scoring wheel and a separating jaw, and moved on a vacuum-suction frame with enough hands to keep it flat. The gear and the labour it needs are priced into the job. Slabs do not get carried by the corners.

Full bed, back-buttered, no voids

Large panels are fixed with a matched-notch floating-and-buttering method so the bed is solid. Voids under a large panel are where the cracks start, and a hollow slab under a kitchen island is a full re-lay.

Levelling systems as standard

Clip-and-wedge levelling across the whole field, not just the tricky corners. On a panel this size a millimetre of lippage catches both light and a bare foot.
